Heaven or Hell
Release the words and worlds of others.
Throw them into the fire ignited with your own self respect.
Make the choice to create your life with your own hands.
You can, I know that you can.
Don’t be fooled by the specter of childhood scary monsters.
Do not make the personal fears of others your own.
Stand up on the foundation of newly secured belief in your self
and move towards the life that you truly dream of.
Shake off “Them” and be in charge of "You".
Let the voices of what they say be drowned out by
the sound of your own dreams.
Love others, but love your self enough to believe and
act on what you know your life can be.
The protests and, screams of anguish of others will diminish
as you cannot be pulled back into their misery.
Like a reformed alcoholic or drug user, find new community,
one that supports your dreams as you support theirs.
Initial bravery becomes self assuredness and a change of life.
Send love and blessings to those you may have to leave behind.
Your life is yours, only yours,
and when all is done “they” will not be there with you to answer and reconcile for time spent.
Only you are responsible, only you decide if this life will be Heaven or Hell.
