Peace
What does peace mean to you?
Certainly peace is something that is self-defined
and perhaps it is even something self-created.
When we decide to have peace in our lives,
we need to start with a definition,
our own definition of peace.
So what does peace mean to you?
Peace can simply mean knowing what you want in your life.
For me, it is the calm feeling that I get when things are in place.
When I can do what gives me joy, undisturbed.
So peace for me is not only that I am free to do what I like,
but the feeling I get when I am doing it, guilt free and happy.
This writing is about my personal peace,
and I certainly respect that it may be much different for you.
We look for peace in a world with strife and war
and we may feel helpless to create or have any peace at all.
How can we effect world events?
Some will find joy in trying to do so,
and I suggest that first each of us has an awareness
of what we can truly effect in our world
and what we cannot.
We can certainly affect our immediate world,
and some can affect a larger sphere of influence than others.
But without personal peace at ground zero—ourselves,
we are trying to create something for the world
that we have not yet created within ourselves.
For me, peace begins with finding peace in my own world.
Starting with your own world, consider finding peace within.
Discover and create what gives you peace.
Finding that, you can share and extend it to others
on whatever scale gives you joy.
Peace.
